The Sleepy Johnson

Singer-songwriter

The Sleepy Johnson is an indie folk project led by Paul Johnson, based in Gloucester UK. His influences include Damien Rice, Nick Drake, Villagers, Fionn Regan and Stephen Fretwell, and mixes mellow acoustic guitar with catchy melodies and understated vocals.

Paul is a DIY artist recording songs written at home during early years of fatherhood, while the kids were in bed. 'Turn a light on' is his debut release as The Sleepy Johnson, with more singles in the pipeline for 2022.

Previously of Cheltenham indie band The Drawing of the Three and now leading the band Hear the Spheres, Paul is a guitarist, singer, songwriter and private guitar instructor. He has performed most notably at local venues the Frog and Fiddle, Gloucester Guildhall and Bristol Fleece, and festivals including Lakefest and Sportbeat.

New Single - Turn a light on

Turn a light on is a song about losing your way and finding it again. When life becomes too much to deal with, when you're not living the life you want to, remember who you are. Find yourself again. Perhaps loved ones shine a light to show you the way. Perhaps you find your own way through reflection and positive change. Don't give up. You'll feel better soon.
